Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson set the fastest time in Q3 at Trois-Rivieres this morning to move to second overall in the Intermediate Classification with only Q4 left to run before the semi-finals and final in Canada this afternoon.

At the seventh round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, the Volkswagen RX Sweden driver won the third race of Q3 before France’s Sebastien Loeb won the final race, as overnight leader Petter Solberg dropped to fifth at the first corner after contact with Russia’s Timur Timerzyanov. Solberg finished the race fifth behind Loeb, Mattias Ekstrom, Andreas Bakkerud and Timerzyanov to set eighth fastest time. He retains top spot, with Timerzyanov now third.

Loeb was second fastest and is fourth overall, while Sweden’s Timmy Hansen struck back after crashing out of Q2 yesterday to set sixth fastest time. OlsbergsMSE driver Kevin Eriksson retired from Q3 following contact with Latvia’s Janis Baumanis, for which the World RX Team Austria driver was disqualified from Q3. Anton Marklund, Robin Larsson, Ken Block and Niclas Gronholm completed the Q3 top 12.

After Q3 in the Intercontinental RX Lites Cup, America’s Mitchell DeJong leads the Intermediate Classification with Finland’s Miki Weckstrom second and Sweden’s OIiver Eriksson third.
